Introducing Me: An Aspiring Writer

Ever since grade school, I kept a journal to write down all the interesting things that happened to me on that day. I started keeping a journal because I felt I didn't have anyone to tell what I was feeling (especially the bad ones) and so I resorted to my journal to pour out all of what I wanted to say, as if treating it a real person. I must say, it felt good to write down my experiences each day. Sometimes, I even go back to my previous entries and tons of memories of what happened that day rushed back into my mind.

When I got to high school, it was a complete different experience. Unlike in grade school, a lot of organizations and committees opened themselves for membership either in the beginning or the ending of the year. One of the committees I dream of being part of was my school's publication. I have longed to write and I think that my school's publication would be a good experience for me. However, I was afraid to join. I felt that I wasn't good enough to be part of the committee. I  doubted my writing skills even if others were recommending me to join. I didn't join during my first year in high school, but at the end second year high school, I finally got the courage I needed and auditioned.

The audition was simple. All I had to do was write write one article each depending on the the sub-committees, namely, General News, Features, Sports, Cultural, and Literary. I was asked to place a star on the upper right hand corner of the paper of the sub-committee I wanted to be part of. I chose to be part of the Features. Being under Features requires more of a freedom of what I would want to write. Unlike the other sub-committees, I need to take down details.

The results were released summer, and although I got in, I was placed under the Sports Staff. Not my first choice, but at least I proved to myself I was good enough to be part of my school's publication. I worked really hard and made sure each article was good enough to be published. The first issue of the school's newspaper was finally released. Words can't express how happy I was to see my first ever article on the paper.
My First Article
I auditioned again for next year and I got in but now under a different sub-committee - General News Staff. Now, General News was a bit of the challenge for me. I needed to scoop up the latest school happenings and interview the key persons for details. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the experience.

As I'm entering to college, I sure hope that I can join my new school's publication. I want to continue writing and further improve what I know I can achieve. In the near feature, I really hope to get a job in media particularly in the writing aspect.

Since it's summer here I decided to come up with this blog before college starts on June. I'm going to write things that I find interesting and I sure hope you would enjoy my blog! Have a nice day! :)

Happy Mother's Day

Me and my Mom looking cute Today is Mother's Day and I decided to write a post dedicated to my mom. My mom is a very caring and patient woman. She spent all her life taking care of me and my siblings. I remember when I was young she would always buy us food after picking us up for school. Well, me and my siblings really get hungry easily so whenever it's dismissal we look for food. Whenever, I get sick she would buy me medicine and tuck as bed and wait for me to fall asleep before leaving the room. During my grade 7 year, me and my siblings got chicken pocks. My mom spent so many hours and weeks taking care of us and helping us not scratch the pocks as it might turned to scar. Her efforts of doing so really proved how much she loves and cares for us.
